Please feel free to suggest some good hiking destinations...

I created this group with the intention of promoting fitness for those that may lack the motivation to jog when it's raining, or have a hard time keeping the routine, (like myself) and that through this group, we will be a support tool for each other by meeting up every morning on weekdays (rain or shine) before heading off to work. Though everyone is welcome, the meetup is intended for beginners to intermediate joggers. Please post a picture of yourself so we know what you look like when we m …

I started this group so I could workout with my son and share my knowledge with other moms. This is an Outdoor Stroller fitness class during the summer months, and an indoor mom and baby class during the winter months. This is a group for active outdoor enthusiasts who also happen to be metaphysically minded. Hiking, running, camping, kayaking and so forth. Perhaps a bit of a meditation partway on a trek, or discussion afterwards and so forth.

We will visit many seldom-seen areas in the local mountains, Vancouver Island, and possibly elsewhere in BC and the rockies. Some trips I have in mind for the summer are Golden Hinde on Vancouver Island, the Fools Gold route from Coquitlam to Squamish, Meslilloet Mountain, and a magnificent traverse through the Southern Chilcotins. Our trips will not always follow trails or standard routes, the idea being exploration of lesser-known peaks and areas, with compass navigation, bushwacking, and ca …

The group will be aimed not just at the training of the body, but on the entire human spectrum: the mind, the spirit AND the body. We will be infusing the running with brief meditations, basic e …
The popularity of the modern sport of SUP has its origin in the Hawaiian Islands. In the early 1960s, the Beach Boys of Waikiki would stand on their long boards, and paddle out with outrigger paddles to take pictures of the tourists learning to surf. This is where the term "Beach Boy Surfing", another name for Stand Up Paddle Surfing, originates. The sport benefits athletes with a strong 'core' workout. SUP'ing is popular at warm coastal climates and resorts, and is gaining in popularity as cele …
